Lovely purple hues of Amethyst make these gemstones the perfect choice for this rosary. In ancient Rome, the color purple was associated with royalty. The Amethyst purple color was selected for Blessed Virgin Mary for she is the Queen Mother of Christ the King. Also, Catholic tradition uses the color purple, during Lent to symbolize penance and sorrow. When praying the 3rd sorrowful mystery of the rosary, we meditate on the incident when Roman soldiers gave Jesus a purple robe and crown of thorns to wear.
Faceted deep, purple Amethyst gems were selected for the Our Father beads. The Hail Mary beads are also Amethyst with colors ranging from milky white to light lilac to reddish purple to deep violet. The Miraculous Medal centerpiece and crucifix are silver oxidized and finely decorated. This handmade rosary would be a wonderful communion or confirmation gift.

Each rosary is spiritually inspired and lovingly made. I am inspired by biblical stories, saint stories, colors and semiprecious stones that have historical or liturgical meaning. My rosaries are handcrafted with quality gemstones, (not glass or imitation gemstone beads), and parts for solid construction. The gemstones and materials are selected to create beautiful rosaries. It is my hope to make a rosary that will enrich your daily prayer. Peace!
